Academy of Management’s International Management Division Selects Winner of the 4th ‘Amorepacific Outstanding Educator Award’

On August 1, the Academy of Management’s International Management Division selected Paul Almeida, dean of Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, as the 4th Amorepacific Outstanding Educator Award winner.

Amorepacific Outstanding Educator Award, which Amorepacific has been sponsoring since 2018, is an award given to educators who have made outstanding achievements and pursued innovation in the field of international management education by the Academy of Management’s International Management Division.

Professor and winner of the 4th Amorepacific Outstanding Educator Award, Paul Almeida, is a world-renowned scholar in the field of international management strategy. After obtaining his PhD from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1995, he became a professor at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business and is currently the dean. Professor Almeida, who was also the editor of the globally recognized journal in the field of international management, the Journal of International Business Studies, published many papers on innovation and knowledge transfer of multinational corporations across the global network. As dean at Georgetown University, Professor Almeida also greatly contributed to the advancement of education in international management.

President Jaeyong Song (professor of business administration at Seoul National University) of the International Management Division, Academy of Management, said “Amorepacific’s sponsorship is a strong support in the advancement and academic research in international management education” and added, “we look forward to more world-renowned scholars like Professor Almeida who studies the field of international management in depth and contributes to the growth strategies of multinational corporations.”

Last year, the Academy of Management’s International Management Division awarded the 3rd Amorepacific Outstanding Educator Award to globally recognized scholar in the field of international management strategy, Professor Kendall Roth at University of South Carolina.
