AMOREPACIFIC’s Pink Ribbon Campaign

CSR 2006-10-11

AMOREPACIFIC has been adding all efforts for the beauty and health of all women, and with the Breast Cancer Awareness month returning this October, AMOREPACIFIC is accelerating its efforts with its Pink Ribbon campaigns. First of all, AMOREPACIFIC is sponsoring the 6th Pink Ribbon Marathon (www.pinkmarathon.com), which will be held in Seoul on October 15th. Prior to the event in Seoul, the marathon has been held in sequence in other major cities in Korea including Busan, Guangju, Daejeon, and Daegu, with more than 30 thousand participants to stir up breast cancer awareness. The entry fee collected during the event (approximately USD 300 mn) will be donated to the Korea Breast Cancer Foundation (KBCF) to be used for breast cancer awareness activities. Also, AMOREPACIFIC’s cosmetics brand Hera and Verite is offering ‘Pink Ribbon sets’ composed of compact and whitening products this month. Portion of gains from selling the special sets ranging from packages with pink ribbon bags designed by a renowned fashion designer to multi-colored compacts reflecting the pink ribbon image, will be donated to KBCF. Last month, about 300 people suffering from breast cancer were invited to a two-day program to promote breast cancer awareness and the importance of early checkup. The program included laughter therapy, dietary treatment, sharing stories of hope, mountain climbing and more, which allowed the participants to share hopes and build self-confidence. AMOREPACIFIC has been donating a portion of its profits to KBCF for the health of women every year, and is practicing various social contribution activities to fulfill its duties as a corporate citizen.
