  • Official verification confirms 100% renewable electricity across global operations, achieved through a phased transition using PPAs and on-site renewable generation

Amorepacific, a leading South Korean beauty company, has achieved 100% renewable electricity across all operations worldwide, with official verification from The Climate Group, which leads the RE100 initiative.

Amorepacific was the first Korean beauty company to join RE100 in 2021. Its renewable electricity transition rate, which stood at around 5% in 2020, steadily increased to reach a full enterprise-wide transition in 2025. This transition reflects the company's long-term strategy to reduce emissions and its support for sustainable growth. From the earliest stages, when market conditions for procuring renewable electricity were still limited, the company was an early adopter in Korea's renewable energy market by becoming the first to sign direct and virtual power purchase agreements (PPAs). It also made large-scale investments that actively utilized idle land at all its sites, expanding its self-generation (company-owned) solar PV facilities from 0.2MW in 2011 to approximately 7.1MW today.

Amorepacific's climate management efforts extend across its supply chain. In a recent evaluation by CDP, a global environmental management assessment organization, Amorepacific earned the top grades (A) in the Climate Change and Water Security categories, as well as in the Supplier Engagement Assessment (SEA). This result underscores the company's efforts to build a foundation for greenhouse gas reduction together with its key partners and to establish a robust climate change response framework.

Oliver Wilson, Head of RE100 and Energy Operations, The Climate Group, stated, "Since joining RE100 in 2021, Amorepacific has steadily advanced towards their goal of procuring 100% renewable electricity, and we're delighted to congratulate on achieving this remarkable milestone. Amorepacific's leadership sends a powerful signal to corporates and policymakers that the future is renewable. We look forward to working closely together to continue this mission and unlock renewables access in South Korea."

Sunchul Kwon, Head of Safety & Environment Division, Amorepacific, added "Achieving RE100 is not an end but a new starting point. Going forward, we will continue to advance our renewable electricity portfolio with instruments that offer greater additionality to respond to the climate crisis. We will fulfill our responsibility as a company leading sustainability management by expanding the foundation for reducing carbon emissions across the entire supply chain in collaboration with our partners."
