Carbon Neutrality
Amorepacific aims to achieve carbon neutrality by reducing greenhouse gas emissions generated in our production processes and corporate activities. We strive to offset equivalent emissions, fulfilling our role as a global corporate citizen in combating climate change. Specifically, we will expand the use of renewable energy in our product manufacturing processes and reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout our entire operation, including the supply chain.
Climate Change Response Strategy
Building on our approximately 30 years of eco-friendly beauty leadership, Amorepacific has formulated a climate change strategy to realize carbon neutrality. The two pillars of Amorepacific's climate change strategy for achieving carbon neutrality are Process Innovation and Product Innovation.
Process Innovation
Through Process Innovation, we aim to minimize the climate impact across our company, spanning production, logistics, and our partners. First and foremost, Amorepacific will strive to convert the electricity used in every phase from product production to disposal to renewable energy. By 2025, all Amorepacific facilities, including production sites, headquarters, R&I Center, stores, and sales offices, will use 100% renewable energy to minimize the climate impact generated at every stage.
Product Innovation
Through Product Innovation, we strive to reduce greenhouse gas emissions per product and create a foundation for various stakeholders to collaborate in addressing the climate crisis. We will decrease emissions from raw materials, product usage, and disposal, thus reducing the carbon footprint of our products. Furthermore, we will join forces with governments, corporations, partners, and civic organizations to combat the climate crisis collectively.
2030 Carbon Neutrality Roadmap
Recognizing the severity of climate change, Amorepacific is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from its corporate activities as a responsible global corporate citizen. To that end, we have developed a 2030 Carbon Neutrality Roadmap with industry experts, academics, and top executives. By 2030, Amorepacific will reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 100% compared to the levels in 2018. In 2022, Amorepacific increased the proportion of renewable electricity used across all facilities to 34.1% and reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 42.7% compared to 2018. Moreover, we have converted 8 of our company-owned vehicles to electric and installed five rapid chargers, continuing our eco-friendly transition toward carbon neutrality.
