Adenosine
Adenosine is a form of protein in natural organic cells. It helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
Ascorbic Acid
Ascorbic acid, also known as vitamin C, brightens the skin tone and is used to prevent the formula from oxidizing.
Benzyl Alcohol
Benzyl alcohol is a common preservative naturally present in most plants and used as a solvent for fragrance. Amorepacific does NOT use benzyl alcohol according to internal quality standards.
BHT (Butylated Hydroxytoluene)
BHT helps to prevent formulas and raw ingredients from oxidizing.
Butylene Glycol
Butylene glycol is used as a moisturizing or viscosity-decreasing agent in various cosmetic products.
Carbomer
Carbomer helps to control various formula’s viscosity.
Citric Acid
Citric acid helps to balance the pH levels. It is found naturally in citrus fruits, such as mandarins.
Cocamide MEA (Monoethanolamine)
Cocamide MEA helps the formation of soapsuds and adjust viscosity for body wash and shampoo products.
Cyclomethicones
Cyclomethicones (cyclopentasiloxane and cyclohexasiloxane) is used to soften a formulation and helps the even application of a formulation on the skin in various cosmetic products.

Dimethicone is an ingredient used in cream, lotion, shampoo products and more to help retain moisture in skin and hair.
EDTA (Ethylenediaminetetraacetic Acid)
EDTA is a common formula-stabilizer used in cosmetic products, which binds with certain ions such as calcium and magnesium.
Ethylhexylglycerin
Ethylhexylglycerin is a type of moisturizing glycerin widely used in cosmetic and care products.

Glycerin is a mostly plant-derived ingredient commonly used for moisturizing.
Green Tea Extract (Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract)
Green tea extract refers to an ingredient extracted from the leaves of tea plants (scientific name: Camellia sinensis). Mica
Mica can be obtained from natural minerals (muscovite) in the form of fine, silvery powder. It gives a glowy and shiny appearance to the skin.
Microbeads
Microbeads refer to solid plastic particles of less than few millimeters. The use of microbeads in wash-off products, such as exfoliant and toothpaste, are prohibited in many countries, including Korea, for the protection of the aquatic environment. Amorepacific has prohibited the use of microbeads before any regulatory restrictions were in place.
Mineral Oil
Mineral oil has been a common ingredient used for in drugs and cosmetics for moisturizing and skin-softening purposes. It is used in cosmetic products only if highly refined to pharmaceutical standards.
Niacinamide
Niacinamide is a type of vitamin B3 and a common ingredient used to improve and brighten skin tone.
Octocrylene
Octocrylene is used in sunscreen products to protect skin from UVB rays.

Parabens
Parabens are widely used as a preservative in cosmetic and drug products. Amorepacific does NOT use parabens according to internal quality standards.
Petrolatum
Petrolatum, also known as petroleum jelly, has long been used as a barrier to prevent and protect moisture-loss of the skin and hair. It is used in cosmetic products only if highly refined to pharmaceutical and food standards.
Phenoxyethanol
Phenoxyethanol is a common preservative used in cosmetic products.
Polyethylene Glycol (PEG)
PEG is a formulation stabilizer and a moisturizing ingredient.
Retinol
Retinol, a type of vitamin A, helps to improve the elasticity of the skin, and prevents and fades the appearance of wrinkles.

Salicylic Acid
Salicylic acid is used as a preservative in many types of acne products and relieves skin-flaking.
Silica
Silica can be found in various minerals and plants. It helps to prevent the clumping of a formula and to adjust opacity of a formulation in cosmetic products. Also, it is used as an absorbent to make powder-like feeling of formula.
SLS/SLES (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate/Sodium Laureth Sulfate)
SLS and SLES are used in wash-off type cleansing products that helps to wash out dirt, sebum, and makeup residue on the skin.
Soybean Extract (Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract)

Stearic Acid
Stearic acid can be derived naturally. It forms a barrier to prevent moisture-loss and controls viscosity and stability of a formulation.
Synthetic Wax
Synthetic wax controls viscosity of the formula and softens the texture of various cosmetic products.
Talc
Talc can be obtained from natural minerals. It is used as a lubricant and texture softener and helps to prevent the clumping of a formula.
Titanium Dioxide
Titanium dioxide can be obtained from natural minerals such as rutile. Its UV-reflective properties are used as a UV filter and as a white colorant.
Tocopherol
Tocopherol, also known as vitamin E, prevents the formula from oxidizing. It is a helpful antioxidant and moisturizing ingredient.
Triclosan
Triclosan is an antibacterial, antifungal ingredient used widely as a preservative in cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and general products. Amorepacific does NOT use triclosan according to internal quality standards.
Triethanol Amine
Triethanol amine is a formulation stabilizer and a pH balancer for the skin and hair. Amorepacific does NOT use triethanol amine according to internal quality standards.
Urea
Urea is a natural component of our skin and is used as a softener and moisturizer.

Xanthan Gum
Xanthan gum is an ingredient obtained by fermentation of mono-saccharides, the most basic units of carbohydrates. It helps to control the viscosity of a formulation, protect the skin, and retain moisture.
Zinc Oxide
Zinc oxide can be obtained from natural minerals such as zincite. Its UV-reflective properties are used as a UV filter or as a white colorant.
