Working in the Global HR Team, I am in charge of communicating with overseas subsidiaries for global recruiting and enhancement, supporting the deployment of expatriates based on the subsidiaries' circumstances and strategies, acquiring global talents for HQ, and training them.

QWhat makes 'support' roles special at Amorepacific?
Amorepacific has 16 overseas subsidiaries across 35 countries, with offices in major international cities such as Seoul, New York, Tokyo, Paris, Shanghai, and London. Few companies operate international offices in such key cities, offering global experiences to their employees.
At the headquarters in Seoul, various support teams—including business strategy, finance, legal, and communications teams—actively collaborate with international employees. Working with colleagues from different countries helps us understand local cultures and the business practices of each region. This diversity enables us to connect our company and brands to the world, driving success in the global market.

QPlease describe your career at Amorepacific in three words.
'Global,' 'Communication,' and 'Agile.'HR specialists should focus on ensuring that employees feel rewarded and motivated within an improved work environment and system. It is essential to foster agile communication and actively listen to our team members. When these efforts are recognized by other teams, we can overcome challenges and grow together.
In addition to working at HQ in Seoul, my time working at the Shanghai office was invaluable. There, I experienced closer communication and collaboration with our overseas subsidiary teams. During a period of expanding our international presence, I realized that understanding local laws and cultures, as well as managing time zone differences, was crucial for supporting our global operations and achieving our common goals.

QWhat is the most important aspect of a support role?
'Problem-Solving Ability' and 'Service-Oriented Mindset.'For me, it would be the ability to problem solve and a service-oriented mindset. I am always thinking about how our employees can communicate and develop in a better working environment and system. I find that the most important qualities are a proactive attitude and service mindset, which involves identifying and preparing for their needs in advance to solve problems. Communication is equally essential to identify internal problems or demands, and I believe those in other support roles would agree. We should actively understand the concerns of other brands and the global market's issues, resolving them while ensuring financial and legal compliance with our policies.

QWhen have you been most motivated while working at Amorepacific?
There are still new markets Amorepacific has yet to enter. As our global business expands, and new subsidiaries and offices are established internationally, I am excited about the opportunities to work with many countries and major global cities.
Recently, overseas offices have deployed expatriates to the headquarters, promoting collaboration and mutual learning. In this way, witnessing the growth of the company helps me stay motivated and dedicated.

QPlease tell us about your aspiration for a global vision.
I hope to implement a new HR system for a newly established office to foster dedication and growth among our global employees. Additionally, I aim to explore more recruitment opportunities with global talent from various regions, including North America, Europe, and India, having already engaged with individuals from Asia. Through this journey, I aspire to become a global HR expert, introducing the beauty of Amorepacific worldwide.
